Tamil Padam Review

Hero –RJ Shiva
Cast-M S Baskar, Vennira Aadai Moorthy, Manobala, Disha pandey
Director- CS Amudhan
Genre –Comedy, family entertainer

These are some of the words that you would be remembered no logic, kadavuley, Idhuover, thangaley when you watch this full length spoof about Tamil cinema.
I am not going to tell you the story or the sequence as it is for you to see and laugh, but I will just say a hint of what the movie is

A new born baby boy is to be killed giving cactus milk which comes in a tetra pack and the baby utters all the punchy dialogues of Vijay and is being taken care by “Paravai Munniyama” in Chennai , the boy grows up seeing violence and rowdy’s and pledges to fight and believe me…. he grows up into an adult in less than 5 sec just by riding a bicycle that is put on a stand , the grown up is our hero RJ Shiva , who enters into the main picture and like “Bull entering the China shop” smashes every one all shown in a hilarious way and the laughter journey starts from there…….

These are some of the movies that have been made fun of with out hurting the sentiments of any one. "Chandramukhi,Thalapathi, Apoorva Sagodharargal , Anniyan, Kakka Kakka, Sivaji, Mozhi, pokkiri, Nattaamai,Boys, Ghajini,Kathaliku mariyadhai…etc”

None of the Tamil movie heroes have been left out without being criticized. The list includes Rajini, Kamal,Sarath, Vijaykanth,Vikram(Kandasami) Vijay, Surya, Silambarasan(being the most ).

Even the seniors like T. Rajendhar Bhagyaraj, RajKiran& Delhi Ganesh, are not spared either.

There is an interesting song which principally criticizes Harris Jayaraj for composing songs without any meaning full lyrics, the first few lines….

Oh Maha Zeeya..Oh Maha Zeeya.. (Kakka Kakka)
Nakka Mukka Nakka… (Kadhalil Vizhundhen)
Oh Shakalakka..
Oh Randakka.. (Anniyan)

The appearance of 40 + actors appearing as college students in Tamil films have been vividly ridiculed too in the movie.( M S Baskar, Vennira Aadai Moorthy, Manobala) all being RJ Shiva’s best buddies

The most interesting part is the scene that comes 10 minutes before the end (please watch it). The movie signs off in style by saying ARR words “ella phuzalum iraivanukku” said by Paravai Munniyama.
There are few social messages too embedded in this movie …

Verdict:
Watch this big budget “Lollu Saba”, a full length comedy block buster directed to excellence by CS Amudhan .

If you are not one among them

Believe! A man has a chance to sweep his women of her feet; all he needs is a right broom. No matter what, no matter when and no matter whom she is.

No women in the world knows exactly what she wants unless she sees it or
She get’s it right

60% of all human communication is non-verbal; body language .30% is your tone. So 90% of what you are saying isn’t coming out from your mouth.

It is not necessary that you need to be a good speaker, expressing who you are. All you need is to make the right move and show how important she is to you. If you think you should be expressive think again! Then Kannadasan (lyricist) must be the only eligible one ….

Oh no please don’t try “FORREST GUMP” then she is going to DUMP.

This is the information that I pass on to my fellow men, with no guile; no game there is noo girl...

Some guys develop a degree of comfort with the opposite gender. They like women, women like them and every thing flow naturally.

If you are not one among them, you seem to lack the basic understanding that your peers graduated into

A man is nervous and isn’t sure how a women reciprocates when he says “I like you”. Most men go through that and that’s how things get complicated.

This isn’t about love. This is about the start…………

Insanity Quotes:
No woman wakes up saying Goddd… I don’t want to get swept of my feet. She might give you a reply when you start up like this –

“This is a really bad time for me or I need some space or I’m really in to my career”

You don’t need to believe this and neither will she. Do you know why? Well she is lying to you fell as.

She might be one who could be really into her career or she might need some space, but what she really says is “get away from me now or possibly try harder stupid ...”

She says these, as she is a nice person and never likes to hurt your feelings, but she says these words as she doesn’t know who you are and you shouldn’t think badly, no heart feelings.

No present day man knows the equation that has been there for centuries between women and flowers

Instead go a bit further by searching for the one who not only likes flowers from a florist rather someone who likes flowers that bloom on the road side or someone who notices the flowers and admires them that bloom on the rail tracks?

It’s all about one life, one love and one girl, if you are lucky be good and try to keep up to the traditional aspects of the Indian society.

REMEMBER; it is your duty not to mess it up……………

crazy , yet a good one

(Warning... The text below is written by Anath(Hindustan College)publishing it in my blog after his consent and I take no responsibility whatsoever of its implications. If you have an objection with what's written here, please go and jump into a well.)

(But on a more serious note... the following is a light-hearted post. Do not
take it seriously. They are not the real opinions of the author. They
are simply the opinions the author is trying to project.)

Men.... We are getting royally gypped...

Times... they are a-changing...

Back in the old days, there used to be seperated roles. Men were asked to work and get the money, women were made to look after the home. This led to definitions of chivalry and ladylike behavior.

But as the purity of the chennai koovam river was diluted through the years with sewage coming from the evolved-neanderthal bathrooms, so have the said roles.

Gone are the days when women waited for hours on end, biding their time and waiting for their husbands to come home, so that they can shower them with love and hospitality. Gone are the days when being a good cook was a compliment directed towards the wives. Gone are the days, when being delicate and loving were traits that were considered to be part of the women gene pool.

Those days... are over.

Man, guided by the blind goal of so-called equal rights and justice has willingly turned himself into a slave to the fairer sex.Women, have over the years, pulled cloth over our eyes, so to speak and have ensured that over the years, they take the place of the once forgotten
realm of god.

They are starting a religion and nothing short of a revolution will upheve us from this downfall.

They have conquered the terms for better-half and fairer sex and accused us with terms like chavanists...

They are slowly and surely taking over the world and giving us a raw deal in the end.

Don't believe me? I state to you a few certain facts that you will find hard to refute.

In a date, it is considered the role of the man to make the "moves"

But... If a man moves too soon for a woman, he is accused of being a satyromaniac. (thank you google..)

But if a man is too slow, he is accused of being shy.

He is supposed to take her on a date and show her a good time and If he fails, he is called a bore. The whole date thing is the man's responsibility. It has to be fun and he has to be entertaining, if he fails, it is completely his fault. If the woman is a bore, it is illogical to blame her, that would be rude.

He is the sole funding agent for the whole date, after all that is part of "chivalry" (for the real meaning of chivalry... check here.

He has to help the woman on all her problems and chores, that all falls under that.

Okay... fine... so you endure all this and you get married.

Now is the time for the woman to take up her role and take care of you.

But No... that's the "catch". Women are now modern. Why should they slave over a hot stove and clean and take care of men? It's equal rights time, let the men do the cooking and we will employ someone to take care of the house cleaning and everything.

Okay... so shouldn't women work? Oh no... they can't do that. They have to be lady like and have to take care of the family and the home. Except... all that is taken care of now... so how do they spend the time? Well... they go shopping, partying and do other fun things... while the man goes around the world trading life and limb in order to keep her happy.

Now I say to you... the issue is getting out of hand. It is about time someone stood and said..."Oi... there's something wrong going on here yaar!!" It is time that we we men gather together and rally our forces!!"

It is time to return to our primal states!! Let us go out there and subject the women to where they belong!!!

Muhahahahhahahahhahahahhaha.....

P.S oh... don't tell my mom about this post... she would literally kill me..

Regards,

The great revolutionist.

Avatar

I am writing a movie review for the very first time , if I have made any mistakes please don't make it a big remark .

There had been much speculation about this movie from the date of its release, reasons being 3D , visual effects story line and James Cameron . Every idea you see in this movie is either derived from an another idea .But I’ll tell you right now that Avatar is a film that must be seen in 3D theatres, People are seeing Avatar for the visuals not for the story line.

Sam Worthington, a name I believe Hollywood will soon become recognized with, plays a handicap Ex Marine with the soul purpose of going to the moon Pandora in hopes that the Army/Marines will help pay for him to get his legs fixed while he is stuck in a wheel chair(don’t understand why the government spends so much for an handicapped person to go to a distant place several light years away from earth). Stephen Lang’s performance as Colonel Quaritch was the one performance that seemed to be the abundance of generic quality a character can be. The generic Colonel who’s soul purpose is to complete his mission. ”We’re not in Kansas anymore.” The first half of the movie captures the attention of the viewers into a new planet (Pandora ) were every thing from people , environment , animals , tree of souls , hanging mountains with waterfalls .. Leaves the movie goers in spellbinding .

The second half of the movie revolves around how the native people the Navi’s fight against the Army people and restore their homeland underlines the phrase “people have the right to fight for their life”. The most important thing which you will like in this movie is the climax were even the animals unite with the Navi’s to restore their land is much beyond speculation.

Now for the interesting part , people have speculated that James Cameron inspiration of the Navi’s comes from the ancient Indian mythological Idol Rama .. Yes the blue colored man who fights against the Ravana . The Rama described in the script was 9 feet tall and the Navi’s as described by Director is too the same . The final scene were the hero has three lines on his fore head and fights for his people can be related to the” namam” which the Rama has on his forehead , wait this is just a speculation and not that this is the fact

There are lot of good spiritual lessons embedded in it :
1. The universal consciousness, also known as 'Animism', is an integral part of several primitive cultures. Chinese calls it Chi, Indians call it Prana.
2. Love is the most powerful purifier of all.
3. All energy is only borrowed...You have to give it back.
4. "Mother earth does not take sides; she protects only the balance of life," a quote from movie reveals that mother earth promotes balance and harmony over everything else. Several Hindu and Zen spiritual theories promote balance and harmony as well.

Go see the movie for the visual affects because that itself is a memory to hold on to as movie like this will not be coming in near future ..

AayirathilOruvan -Tamil

What would you get if you mix proportions of Indiana Jones, king kong , 300, Gladiator , Mummy with twist and turns and a mix of Indian style dialogue delivery and humor . Well that’s the adventurous story of Aayirathil Oruvan (AO).

‘Open Ending’ is never entertained with the audiences of Tamil film. In all likelihood, AO has a better first half (with usual Selvaraghavan) that abundantly caters to the ‘B’ and ‘C’ centres. But the latter part flees to a different arena.

When an archaeologist vanishes in Vietnam which was once ruled by the Cholas ( pure fiction). (Reema) and her group of officials are appointed by Government to unravel the mystery. Archeologist’s daughter (Andrea) too joins the defense troupe to carry out the mission. Strapping group of men lead by (Karthi) is employed to assist them. Soon the journey begins and it turns to be tougher than the team had actually predicted.

After the Interval the movie enters into an different story which makes the audiences restless , all of a sudden the trio find out that the Chola dynasty still thrives in a mysterious cave which makes me to say “ how could people in thousands live in a cave when there is no light and food to feed ” . In spite of shelling huge amount of grandeur and money for the intro of Partiban who plays the Chola empire , there’s nothing much impressive we tend to witness.

Karthi fans would go restless as he hardly appears over the screens. Yes, it’s all about realms of Parthiban and Reema for the next 45minutes and Karthi gets back to the picture patently during penultimate sequence. There is an amphitheatre fight like the one people have seen in Gladiator , which makes me to say the DIR is trying to copy and paste the works of Hollywood . Even though Band C audiences wouldn’t have seen much of Hollywood movies , the saying is there “there is no new creativity with the Indian DIR , after seeing movies like this”. Portraying the cholas like barbarians is unacceptable as they lead a civilized life

As mentioned earlier, Selva could’ve picked an alternative climax instead of ‘open ending’. For sure, AO a noteworthy film in the history of contemporary Tamil Cinema. But, it’s strictly not for kids and family audiences, as the last 30 min is a total disaster, showcasing vulgarity and obscene things in front of audiences

Verdict :

Enjoy AO in parts and not in full , appreciate the efforts of technicians who have worked hard to make this movie
